Former Monaghan star Niamh Kindlon is now an honorary Barcelona Gael!

FORMER Monaghan star Niamh Kindlon was in Barcelona last weekend to oversee a memorable coaching session.

Richeal Forde, chairperson of Barcelona Gaels, sent these words of thanks:

“Saturday November 3rd, Barcelona Gaels welcomed 22 ladies and 3 coaches from across Spain and Europe to attend a Ladies Gaelic Football Coaching session taught by Niamh Kindlon.
“Regions represented on the day were Barcelona, Valencia, Galicia and Rome. With beautiful weather and a fantastic effort put in by all, I don’t think anyone left disappointed.

“We cannot credit Niamh enough with the professionalism she showed and the knowledge of the game she handed down to all the players.

“Considering the group was a mix of nationalities and some new players to the game, her explanation of skills and drills made the day run so smoothly.

“With the sun beating down for a 4 hour session, the ladies had nothing but smiles on their faces.

“Watching the session I think we can safely say the level of Ladies Gaelic football is on a high in Spain and Rome.

“From Barcelona Gaels, we would like to thank Niamh Kindlon once again for putting together a fantastic session and also to LGFA and GGE (Gaelic Games Europe) for all their support running up to the event.

“We consider Niamh as an honorary Gael now and we would love to have her back next year to do a session with the club.”
