AND MUNSTER TITLES
By Mary White

On Saturday last the All-Ireland senior
club finalists Donoughmore celebrated their
achievements of 2004 in the Hibernian Hotel,
Mallow. Donoughmore are a side that will
go down in the history books having won
the Cork Senior Club title nine years in
a row and the Munster A Championship four
years in a row. Having won the All-Ireland
club title in 2003 and 2001, the Mid Cork
side once again reached it in 2004 only
too lose agonisingly by one point to Ballybodens,
Dublin.

Coach Mossy Barrett spoke of the heartache
of losing the final however he strongly
stated that Donoughmore will be back next
year. Both Munster Player of the Year and
captain Juliet Murphy and All-Star recipient
Rena Buckley were honoured on the night
for their achievements. County Board Secretary
Sharon O’Keeffe and PRO Mary White were
guests on the evening and Sharon spoke of
how Donoughmore set very high standards
for not just clubs in Cork but throughout
the country.
