Drumcliffe/Rosses Point Ladies(Sligo) Drumcliffe/Rosses Point travel to Kilkerrin/Clonberne in the Connacht Junior Club semi final. The first half was a hard fought contest Amanda Durcan & Sinead McHale (DRP) managed to score two points from play early on. Kilkerrin/Clonberne came back and scored 2 more points. Karina Caraway the rattled the net with a cracking goal, unfortunately this was to be the last score, Nicole Fowley scored two more points in the half to leave a half time score of 1-6 to 3 points. Kilkerrin/Clonberne came out in the second half guns blazing and took the game to Drumcliffe/Rosses Point with the aid of a very strong wind, at this point Drumcliffe/Rosses Point battened down the hatches with great defending from the back. Kilkerrin/Clonberne only managed to score 5 points in the second half. Siobhan O’Sullivan and Claire Hoey at mid field were inspirational and showed county standard. The game ended up 1-8 to 8 points. Drumcliffe/Rosses Point in a Sligo/Leitrim Connacht Final in Markievicz Park next Saturday at 3pm against a strongly fancied Dromahair team who are being looked after by Gerry Ballantine.
