County Mentor Workshop
This is a workshop, organised by county boards, to support County Mentors from underage up to senior level. Presentations are given on the rules and team building plus select 2 options from list below:
- Planning – Season/Matchday
- Communication/Decision Making
- Nutrition and Hydration
Club Mentor Workshop
A workshop to support Club Mentors from underage up to senior level. Covers areas such as the Injury Fund, from a mentors perspective, and a rules refresher. This has been hugely beneficial for mentors and they have found it very informative. This is organised through your county board.
Transition Year Programme
This is a 3 day programme rolled out in a limited number of schools on an annual basis. The format for the programme is as follows:
Day 1: FUNdamentals Coaching Course
Day 2: Modified Grab Your Whistle Referee Course
Day 3: Rules Refresher and Correction of Logbook
All students participating must complete their logbook prior to Day 3. In order to do this they must assist with 5 coaching sessions and referee 2 matches in their locals club. The programme has been used to establish strong club school links in many areas.
TEACH Programme
This course is for school teachers interested in coaching Ladies Gaelic Football, through their PE classes or with school teams, and all participants will be awarded with our FUNdamentals coaching certificate. This is a key strategy outlined under the Coaching and Development area of the Association’s Strategic Plan is to increase the number of coach education courses and to train more coaches. This initiative aims to provide training and support to teachers, who impart valuable coaching services to many players.
