Kerry U-16s reach the Munster Semi Final

Kerry
U-16 Ladies beat Clare to reach Final against
Cork

Kerry had a good win against clare under very
difficult conditions in Clare on sunday 17 april.
The first ten minutes of the game was very even
and the game looked as if it was going to be a
tough one for the fancied kerry ladies. Kerry
scored first with a free from Amanda Brosnan from
kerry who was player of the match.

After
12 minutes kerry started to get into their stride
with two very well worked goals the first from
Grainne Kerins and the second from Amy Foley who
was causing a lot of problems in the corner forward
spot. Clare lifted their hearts then to reply
with a goal and two points from to pull things
close again before kerry stepped up a gear and
scored another 2.5 before the half with goals
from Niamh Sheehan and another from the in form
Amy Foley who finished the first half with 2.1

At
half time kerry were ahead 4.6 to 1.2

After
the break kerry started well but conditions were
very bad and Clare stepped up a gear with two
quick goals to put kerry thinking again. Clare
continued the pressure with 3 more points before
Amanda Brosnan stepped in with a few vital points
and a lovely goal with four Clare girls on the
line trying to stop it .

Kerry
looked very shakey in the second half and will
have to improve a lot if they want to beat Cork
in the under 16 final on the 7th of may.
