Ladies Football Finals Overview

Ladies Gaelic Finals Overview

Ladies’ Football overview Sunday, 23 September 2007
It was Ladies’ Day at Croke Park today, with three All-Ireland
finals being played at GAA Headquarters.

The first match offered the rare sight of a Kikenny team in an
All-Ireland football final. The Cats, who are competing in the
Junior decider, took on a London side that included four Meath
natives. The Noresiders scored two vital first-half goals and
survived a couple of late scares to run out 3-05 to 2-05 winners.

Following that, an Ann Marie Cox inspired Leitrim overcame Wexford
0-17 to 0-10 to claim the All-Ireland Inrtermediate title.

And the triple-header finished with the eagerly-awaited clash
of Mayo and Cork. The highly-fancied Rebelettes claimed their
third All-Ireland Senior title in-a-row on a scoreline of 2-11
to 2-06. The margin of victory would have been far greater had
Mayo not scored two late goals.
