Laois win Leinster Ladies Minor Final after extra time

Laois won the Leinster Ladies Minor Final on Saturday when they beat Meath 3-12 to 2-13 after Extra Time at St. Conleth’s Park Newbridge.

Laois were 2-2 to 0-1 up early on but Meath clawed back to level matters at 2-5 each by half time. Meath found themselves 3 points up as injury time but Aileen O’Loughlin scored a cracker of a goal to force extra time. Full Time: Laois 3-7 Meath 2-10

Meath scored two points in the first period of extra time and Laois failed to score. Laois upped the tempo in the 2nd period of Extra-Time and they added 5 points to Meath’s one to see them run out two point winners at the end

After the game Mary Wheatley presented the cup to Fiona Whelan Laois while Martha Kirwan from Laois got the player of the match award
