Limerick Crowned Under 14C Munster Champions

Limerick travelled to Mallow last Saturday, 21 May to take on Clare in the Under 14C Munster Final.  When the sides met earlier in the season, Limerick came out on top but were expecting a tougher battle on this occasion.   The game was played in ideal weather conditions, with brilliant sunshine and the surface was in excellent condition. Limerick got off to a blistering start with a four goal blitz in the first ten minutes, Clare rallied and both sides played excellent football.  Limerick finished strongly and ran out worthy Winners.  Limerick had heroes all over the pitch, with great work from our goalie, through the backs, our midfield pairing, to the forwards.  Player of the match was awarded to top scorer on the day Ella O’Connor (St Senans). The Cup was presented to Limerick’s Joint Captains Rachael Donnellan and Kaylin O’Connor to tremendous cheers from the Limerick supporters.  Our thanks to all the parents and supporters who came to support the girls in the final and throughout the season.  The team travelled to a function after the final where various awards were given to the team.  The players player of the year was awarded to Ele Madigan (Ahane) and the Management player of the season to Katie Buckley (Dromin/Athlacca/Bangoue).
