Louth Ladies defeat Tipperary

Louth ladies beat Tipperary by two points yesterday in Cahir. This gives the Louth team their third win in the Division 2A National League. The Louth team got off to a rocky start with five wides in the first five minutes of the game. This was a difficult game for the Louth team and they did not lead in the game until the last ten minutes when a goal by Roisin O’Hanlon saw them go three points ahead and Tipperary responded with the last point of the game leaving the girls from the wee county with a two point victory.

A great save by Louth goalie Janine Pepper saw the ball go over the bar for a point to keep the girls in the game. Good play by Orlaith Kirk, Sharon Drumgoole, Jenny Agnew, Grace Lynch and Tara Lynch ensured Louth left Cahir with a win. While the girls from the wee county can be happy with their win against Tipperary, they know that there is room for improvement in their game this year.

Louth’s next match is against Cavan on 23rd February 2003 in Louth with the venue to be decided.
