Armagh 2-10 Waterford 0-9

ARMAGH’S odyssey in this year’s TG4 All-Ireland ladies
SFC continues after they secured a semi-final against Galway on
Saturday.

Armagh, who only won the All-Ireland Junior Championship last
year, beat Waterford in their quarter-final clash in Cavan on
Saturday.

Both sides were locked on three points apiece after an evenly
matched opening quarter. Armagh then took the advantage with a
goal from Sharon Duncan in the 22nd minute to give help them to
a 1-6 to 0-4 lead at the break.

Waterford hit two early points after the resumption but Armagh
responded with some fine scores from Aileen Matthews to put them
five clear. The Deise girls had the chance to hit back but Fionnuala
McAtamney saved brilliantly from a Linda Wall penalty.

The victory was wrapped up for the Orchard county with a great
goal from Maria O’ Donnell six minutes from time.
