Clare Ladies face stern task this Saturday

Clare Ladies face stern task this Saturday

Clare Juniors will take on Cork in the second round
of the Munster Junior Championship in Lisseycasey this Saturday
at 7.00pm.

This will be the stiffest challenge to date of the Deirdre Murphy
honed outfit. Cork, at any level are most competitive, and Clare
can expect a full blown challenge in this match. Division 3 League
Champions will count for nothing as they compete against Cork
on Saturday next.

The Clare girl’s will bemoan the drawn result at Bansha but if
they harbour realistic championship honours then this game will
be a stiff examination of their worth. Cork, whether at Senior
or Junior grade, are always seasoned opponents – with one trick
or another up their sleeves, so Clare will have to tread carefully
on Saturday.

A repeat performance of that given against Tipperary will see
Clare beaten out the gate, so all the girls’ representing Clare
will have to improve their performances next Saturday. A 110%
effort is needed on Saturday to stay in Cork’s sights.

Such a performance is well within the compass of the Clare team
but will they have the confidence to go all out from the start?
Such an effort is what will be required to win Saturday’s match.
Clare will be hopeful on Saturday though, such has been the performance
levels of Eithne Morrissey, Grace Lynch, Louise Henchy and Áine
Kelly. Could this quartet if again on song swing it the Banner’s
way?

Will Majella Griffin bring along her scoring boots? This she
did to great acclaim during the league campaign, but as everybody
knows championship football is s different game. I personally
fancy Clare to create a shock result on Saturday! Hopefully the
team can latch on to my enthusiasm and pull off a rare victory
against Cork.
