Cork qualify for Aisling McGing Semi Finals

Cork Ladies football extra

Aisling McGing Cup.

Cork continue winning run, in Cup. Cork 2-16 Meath 1-6
Cork stormed to their 4th win on the trot, in the Aisling
McGing cup, a competition for Counties with a 2nd Senior
team. After losing to Clare in the Munster Junior Championship,
with the same squad, Cork were determined to get back
on the victory trail and they did so with ease. Ane Marie
Walsh who starred in the Underdogs series was in sparkling
form in the forwards and sent over 6 points.

Louise Crowley continues to impress with 4, while the
goals came from Amy O’Shea who also added 2 points and
Niamh Hickey who added a point, to her major. The defence
were never under pressure and keeper Martina O’Brien coped
well with her duties and saved a penalty, to boot.

The good news is that unbeaten Cork have qualified for
the Semi-Finals with over 3 months to spare, but will
keep in shape with the remaining games against Galway
and Kildare.
