Down Ladies NFL Playoff preview

Down Ladies National Ladies Playoff Preview
After finishing top of the Bord Gais National League Division Two B, the Down Ladies team have received a favourable home draw against Wexford in the playoffs to be held this weekend.  The Ladies game will be played in Saval on Sunday at 2pm.

Down will assume the favourites tag going into the game having pipped Meath to the top of Division 2B. Wexford meanwhile finished fourth in Division 2A with victories over Westmeath and Leitrim to their name.  However, the Down management will be wary of complacency setting in and are leaving nothing to chance.

Speaking before the game, co-manager Sean O’Hare said, “we saw in our defeat to Longford what can happen when we take our eye off the ball.  That was a timely wake up call for us and will ensure that our players are properly focused on the job in hand.  Every game is a final from here on and we are looking no further than a victory against Wexford on Sunday.”

In the lead up to the game, the Down squad have received a timely boost with the delivery of new football gloves for the panel, courtesy of sponsor, Donaghys Shoefair, Banbridge.  Pictured left to right is Yvonne Jackson (Donaghys), Niamh Lennon (Vice Captain), Ann McVeigh (Donaghys), Paul McShane (Team Manager)
