Kerry Manager William O’Sullivan is the Bord Gáis Energy / Irish Daily Star Ladies Football Manager of the Month for February


 

 

 

 

Early this month William O’Sullivan of Kerry  was awarded the first Bord Gáis Energy / Irish Daily Star Manager of the Month award for 2012.  He was awarded with a Galway Crystal trophy and a set of sports books compliments of the Bord Gáis Energy Online Book Club.

 

William, who has been in charge of the Kerry Ladies Senior team since 2010, oversaw the perfect start to the new season in the month of February with three wins from three as Kerry look for promotion to Division One.

 

Picking up from last season when they were All Ireland semi-finalists they notched up big victories in their first three games, including a 20 point win over Cavan, a 13 point margin over Fermanagh and also beatingTipperaryby 16 points.

 

I’d like to accept this award in recognition of the hard work put in over the last two years both on and off the pitch by all involved in ladies football in Kerry,” said William. “The recent successes in Kerry ladies football are as a result of trojan work put in by the officers of the county board combined with the phenomenal dedication shown by the players.”

 

Speaking at the award presentation, Ger Cunningham, Sports Sponsorship Manager, Bord Gáis Energy, said, On behalf of Bord Gáis Energy and the Irish Daily Star I would like to congratulate William and all the coaching staff in Kerry.  They have had a terrific start to the year and I am sure everyone involved in ladies football in Kerry are hoping they can keep this up for the rest of the season.”
