Leitrim Claim Connacht Intermediate title

It was Connacht Final weekend for the Sligo Ladies and having been defeated by Leitrim on 2 occasions this year already Sligo were the underdogs entering the game on Sunday last.  It was an even enough game in the first half as both teams defensively working hard.  Sligo had the upper hand going into the second half as they lead by 4 points. 

Leitrim quickly narrowed the gap by adding a much needed goal with 10 mins of the second half.  It was anyone’s game as the time passed but stamina and concentration paid off for Leitrim as they stole another goal to take the cup from the reigning champions.  Final Score of the 2014 TG4 Connacht Intermediate Final was Leitrim 3.12 to Sligo 1.14.
