Monaghan and Dublin to Provide Cracker

2014 Tesco HomeGrown Ladies National Football League Launch

The meeting of Dublin and Monaghan in the TESCO Homegrown National Football League has all the potential to be a classic encounter between two of the form teams in the TESCO Homegrown National Football Leagues. Both side have been in impressive form since the original meeting of the two team in Round 1 had to be postponed due to the weather.

Dublin have enjoyed their start to life under the management of Gregory McGonigle with 2 wins from 2 including a stunning dismissal of Kerry and hard fought victory away to Mayo. Monaghan too have new management in the form of John Morrison. They enjoyed a routine victory over Laois before turning in a stunning performance to beat champions, Cork away from home.

The winner of this match will move 3 points clear in the table and certainly assume pole position in the quest to reach the knock out stages.

Elsewhere, in Division 2 Kildare will welcome Galway to Sarsfields in Division 2. Galway are the pacesetters in this Division but Kildare are a strong side and sure to be chomping at the bit following a weather affected opening to their 2014 campaign.

In Division 3, Armagh will look to make a big statement when they face another highly rated side in Longford. Both counties will be expecting to feature in the knock out stages so a win will be vital here. Offaly have found life in Division 3 to be hard going so a win against form side, Leitrim, will be important if they hope to avoid returning straight back to the bottom division.
