Munster Pat the Baker Post Primary Schools football

The Munster Pat the Baker junior C Post Primary schools final played at Clounmacon Co.Kerry on Wednesday February 27th turned out to be a very skilful, entertaining competitive game.

Weather conditions similar to that of a summers day with a slight breeze, underfoot conditions difficult however, both schools overcame this aspect and thoroughly entertained the sizeable following. Scoil Pobail Kenmare Co.Kerry and Scoil Mhuire Ennistymon Co.Clare arrived at the venue with their own expectations and for the Kerry school it was their first appearance in a schools final whereas the Clare school won the senior D Provincial final in ’07.

As the game unfolded it was a story of two halves and the sheer physical strength of the Scoil Mhuire girls saw them finally pull through as winners despite the fact of many heart stopping events to scenes of joy and celebration from their teachers and supporters 3-08 to 2-07 and 13 year old Roisin Howley Scoil Mhuire named Pat the Baker player of the final. Scoil Mhuire represent Munster in the All Ireland series where they compete with the Connacht champions in early April.
