Pat the Baker Ladies Post Primary Schools

There was good news recently for Ladies Gaelic Post Primary Schools
Football, when Pat the Baker announced their 3-year sponsorship
deal with the Association. The launch of this sponsorship was
held on Monday December the 11th in Croke Park at 12.30pm. Each
Provincial Council schools committee were present, along with
County school officers, and a schools player from each county.
Hazel Fogarty (Limerick), Stephanie Regan (Clare), Ashling Leonard
(Kerry), Katie Sheehan (Cork), Nichola Gilmore (Tipperary), and
Theresa Curran (Waterford) were the representatives of the schools
in their counties.

The Chief Executive of the Association Helen O’Rourke welcomed
all those present and introduced Eddie Baker representing Pat
the Baker, and Geraldine Giles President of the Ladies Gaelic
Football Association.

Our President spoke of her delight of this new sponsorship, and
of the prestige that the sponsorship would add to the post primary
schools competitions. She also acknowledged the work of teachers,
volunteers, and school officers throughout the country, and praised
the work they were doing for ladies Gaelic football.

Eddie Baker stated that the girls playing at this level are the
future of their sport. He recognised the role that sport plays
in the development of young people. He looked forward to the partnership
with the Association, and of Pat the Bakers “commitment to
supporting and growing the sport”, over the next three years
at schools level. Eddie went on to say that, Pat the Baker is
themselves All Ireland champions in their respective field.
