Seneschalstown to Celebrate 20th Year

Seneschalstown Ladies Football club in Meath are celebrating the milestone of reaching their 20th year this Saturday, November 14th.

Seneschalstown Ladies Senior Champions 2014

The well known Meath club was originally set up in 1982 but, for a variety of reasons, disbanded in 1985. However, the success of the Meath Junior Ladies, and local player Dearbhla O’Caroll in particular, the interest in reviving the club grew and so in March 1995 the first Annual General Meeting took place and they have never looked back since.

The biggest year in their history came in 2003 when Seneschalstown won the Leinster Senior Club Championship and reached the All Ireland final where they were unfortunate to come up against a great Donoughmore team at the peak of their powers.

This club has grown from humble beginnings to win 13 Meath Senior championships, 1 Leinster championship and 11 Division 1 League titles.

A day of celebrations will take place from 2pm at the Kentstown School pitch and will be rounded off with the meeting of the ‘Golden Oldies (pre ’95) team versus the ‘Spring Chickens’ (current team)

It promises to be a great day of reminiscing and celebrations.
