Smart Telecom renew Cork ladies sponsorship

Smart
Telecom renews sponsorship of Cork Ladies Football for
further 12 months

Smart Telecom, the second largest provider of corporate,

SME and residential telecommunications services in Ireland,
has announced that it is to renew its sponsorship of Cork
Ladies Football. Sponsorship of the teams will continue
for the next 12 months with the Smart Telecom logo remaining
on the jerseys of the five Cork ladies teams, namely the
under 14, under 16, Minor, Junior and Senior. Last year,
the senior team won their first ever All-Ireland ladies
football title when they beat Galway in Croke Park, retained
the U16 All-Ireland title and won back to back Munster
titles at every level.

Cork Ladies Football was established in 1976 and has 3,901
registered players in 56 clubs across the county. Rhona
Bradshaw, Head of Marketing with Smart Telecom, says that
the sponsorship has created a fantastic profile for the
brand in Cork, and the company is delighted to be renewing
the sponsorship again this year. “The Cork Ladies Football
sponsorship is a perfect fit for the Smart Telecom brand
as all the teams involved are young, dynamic and energetic.
After claiming the league crown in April 2005 they went
on to win their first All Ireland ladies football title,
defeating opposition Galway 1-11 to 0-8.

We are very proud of their achievement and are looking
forward to another successful year of partnership with
the organisation. Cork is a very important market for
us and we are thrilled to be sponsoring such a vibrant
selection of talented young sports people.”

Mary White is the PRO for Cork Ladies Football. “We’re
over the moon that Smart Telecom is on board with us again.
They’ve been a fantastic sponsor and the association with
such a high profile company has done wonders for the image
of our game and organisation. It’s fair to say we’re envied
by other counties because of the profile of our sponsor.
One of the reasons why the sponsorship is so successful
is that Smart Telecom and Cork Ladies Football are very
similar – we both have high standards in delivering the
goods and getting the job done. Fingers crossed our successes
will grow and combine again for 2006.”

Smart Telecom’s sponsorship of Cork Ladies Football is
part of their extensive sports sponsorship portfolio.
Other sports sponsorships undertaken by Smart Telecom
include St. Patrick’s Athletic Football Club in Dublin,
Leinster Women’s Rugby and skier Ms Kirsten Mc Garry who
is to represent Ireland in the Winter Olympics 2006.

Smart Telecom is also the sponsor of ‘Tubridy Tonight’
on RTE 1 Television, the weather on Sky News Ireland,
hourly weekly forecasts on Q102 in Dublin and the ‘Home
Run’ programme on 98FM in Dublin, which runs from 4pm
– 7pm Monday to Friday.
