Statzpack partners with University of Ulster Gaelic Games
ISSUE DATE: October 2009

PRESS RELEASE

The company behind the leading Gaelic Sports team management and statistics system Statzgaelic has teamed up with the University of Ulster Gaelic Football Club to develop their product. The University of Ulster is a leading European centre for sports research and excellence. The Gaelic Football teams within the University of Ulster are constantly leading the pack on the University scene, winning the Sigerson and O’Connor Cup in 2008.  As part of the agreement Statzpack will work with the Gaelic Football Club team to test the product to its full, and as a partner, providing input to future product developments.

In addition Statzpack will make its product available for academic programmes for research and development opportunities.
Paul Rouse, Gaelic Games Development Officer at the University of Ulster said “It’s a great opportunity for us to utilise and input to the development of this product.  Stats are increasingly playing a part in the game today and this product will allow us to track and measure key stats within training and competitive games, and to have that information stored for each year is a powerful tool for us.”

Statzpack launched their GAA focused product in July and has already seen significant interest from Clubs, Schools, Universities and even County teams. Statzgaelic works with teams to record their stats using an iPod or iPhone and all the data makes its way to a website, where it is graphically presented on a simple to use click and play dashboard system.

“The interest has been incredible. In the past month we have had over 50 new users signup” said Mark Roberts, Director at Statzpack.  He added “To work with Paul and the University Gaelic Club provides us with great visibility into the current thinking and demands of those at the cutting edge of sport,, which we can then input into our product. The University is a leader in its field and can boast some of the leading thinkers and facilities with regards to sport on the island, so without a doubt we are honoured to partner with the Gaelic Club in this way.”
