Donoughmore
Rena Buckley is the Cork Captain for 2012. A very successful dual player, Rena has played football and camogie for Club, College and County. A physio by trade, Rena’s dream would be to spend her time playing sport. With 3 All Stars and part of the TG4 Team of the Decade Rena is a highly decorated Ladies Footballer and one of the leading defenders in the game.
St Sylvesters
Sinéad Aherne has been one of Dublin’s most prolific forwards over the last number of years. Sinéad has been awarded a Ladies Gaelic Football All Star for the last three years and in 2011 won the PUMA Golden Boot for the top scorer in the Senior Championship.
Carnacon
Claire Egan has been one of Mayo’s pivotal players over the last number of years. Along with County duties Claire recently had the honour being awarded player of the match in the recent TESCO All Ireland Club Final in which Carnacon overcame Na Fianna of Dublin.
Tinahely Co. Wicklow
2011 has been a fantastic year for this young Wicklow Footballer. Although she lost a County Minor Final she was instrumental for Wicklow Senior Team in their wining of the Junior All Ireland Final. She was awarded Player of the Match after the drawn match with New York and in the replay, she scored a goal at a crucial time in the match. Lucy also one the Junior Puma Golden Boot award after her high scoring season and to top it all off she is a nominee for the Junior Players’ Player of the year.
Catríona McKeon – Wicklow
Kilbride
Catríona McKeon only started playing Ladies Football when she went to college in England. Now a PE Teacher back in Ireland Catríona showed fantastic leadership throughout the year and was instrumental in guiding Wicklow to glory in the 2011 TG4 Junior Championship Final.
