Strokestown Ladies Notes 27.04.2015

U16: Hard luck to our gallant U16 ladies who lost their Shield final by the narrowest of margins to Roscommon Gaels, 3-5 to 3-6. They played their hearts out and can be very proud of their performance. Team:

Shauna McDermott, Zoey McDermott, Rebecca Compton, Rebecca Lee, Sadhbh Cusack, Joanna Regan, Hettie Cahill, Claire Brogan, Caroline Beirne, Cora Devine, Chelsea Devine, Maria Kennedy, Clodagh Hanly, Caitlin Flanagan & Leah Brady. Subs: Paula Compton & Leigh McGinley. Thanks to their mentors Pearce McGinley, Garry Tynan and Diane Mullooly for all their work with the team.

U12: Our U12 girls were defeated by Western Gaels 4.4 to 2.2 last week. This improving young team will be hoping for better luck in their next outing against Michael Glaveys.

U12/14/16: The club wishes to thank our underage sponsors for their generosity in providing training tops for our younger players. John Lee/Sportsmans Inn sponsored the U 16 girls,  Mark McDermott Motors sponsored the U14’s and the Percy French Hotel sponsored the U12’s.

The younger girls and their mentors meet at Sliabh Ban on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7pm for a walk/fitness session, this is open to everyone regardless of age so please feel free to join in.

County: Good luck to Jill & Eleanor and the County Minors in their Connacht final v Sligo on Monday next in Ballyhaunis at 4pm.
