TG4 Intermediate Championship Semi Final Cavan v Leitrim

The last weekend in August is jam packed with Ladies Gaelic action around the country. The TG4 Championship is at Semi Final stages with counties making the final push towards booking their place in the All Ireland Final.

In Cashel action kicks off with the TG4 Intermediate Championship with Cavan taking on Leitrim at 4.15pm. Both teams have been impressing so far with good result during the early rounds of the Championship.

For the last number of years Cavan have had great player to boast of and it seems like it is all coming together in 2011. Many of their players have tasted success with the three in a row College champions DCU and they put in a fantastic performance to beat Dublin in the BGE League earlier this year.  You would imagine that the league is the furthest thing from their mind at this stage though. Cavan will remember well the semi final defeat the suffered at the hands of Waterford last year – a day they will be determined not to reenact.

Everyone remembers Leitrim’s historic Intermediate All Ireland win in 2007. In truth the have not featured a huge amount since then. Again however this year everything seems to be coming together for Connacht county. Similar to Cavan they recorded some convincing wins in the early rounds of the competition.

Taking current form into account 4.15 on Saturday is shaping up to be a very tight affair. Below are the team lines out for the two teams.
