All Ireland Feile 2011

All Ireland Feile 2011 was held last weekend in Carrigaline Co.Cork.Tipp ladies football were represented by Cahir who were making their 5th consecutive appearance at feile having won division 3 in 2010.Cahir started the weekend in fine fashion in division 2 with a 4-07 to 1-03 win over hosts carrigaline. On friday Cahir continued thie great start with 2 more victories which set up a semi-final clash with Offaly champions Ferbane.After a tough game Cahir bowed out at the penultimate stage with a narrow 1pt defeat to the Offaly girls on the final scoreline of Ferbane 3-02 Cahir 1-07.This was a terrific performance by the Tipp representives who did our county proud and this proved their status as a top club as Ferbane went on to win the Division 2 final.Well done again to the cahir team and mentors and to all who supported your journey to feile 2011.

Intercounty Scene

Tipp u16s in preparation for their upcoming Munster final have organised a series of challenge matches in the coming weeks.On the 9th july they play Dublin in Dublin at 2pm.Then on the 17th of July they take on Longford at 11am venue tbc and their final challenge takes place on the 20th of july when they take on Kildare in Templemore at 7pm.Best of luck to all involved.

Club Scene

The last of the u12 finals took place last week with 2 more titles up for grabs.Last Tuesday 28th june saw Brian Borus claim the u12 B crown when they defeated Mullinahone on the scoreline of Brian Borus 2-06 Mullinahone 0-02.Boru’s dominated the game from start to finish and Mullinahone to their credit never gave up but it was to be Brian Borus night who also had some fine individual performances.Well done to all involved.

Friday 1st July the u12 D final was played in New Inn between St Patricks who were competing in their 1st underage county final and Ardfinnan.The game was played in ideal conditions and it was St.Pats who seized the initiative and dominated the game from start to finish and showed the greater hunger and desire to secure their 1st under age title winning on the final scoreline of St Pats.3-04 Ardfinnan 0-01.This was a great night for the club from the foothills of Slievenamon who were only founded in 2010 and are to be complimented for the great work they are doing and look like they will have many more great nights in Ladies football.
