Ulster LGFA Award Winners

ULSTER CHRISTMAS DINNER AND AWARDS NIGHT The inaugural Ulster Ladies Awards night proved a happy hunting ground for Cavan and Tyrone as between them they picked up all five awards on offer in Kelly’s Inn on Friday night.

The Ulster Executive, sub committees and winners were joined by LGFA President Marie Hickey for the ceremony.

The first recipient on the night was LISA O BRIEN who won the social media award for the way in which she used soical media to promote the Cavan County finals. DOMINIC MC CLEMENTS submitted 3 images for the action picture of the year and while the judges could not decide which one was the best they did agree that Dominic had provided the best pictures. PADDY HUNTER picked up the award for the best County Final programme. The Omagh man actually produced 3 excellent colour publications. Cavan’s MAGGIE FARRELLY was named as the first winner of the special merit award in recognition of making history as being the first woman to referee a mens inter-county championship match. The club volunteer of the year was sponsored by the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny. KARL KIMMINS, LUCY MC CULLAGH and ABBY BRADY were all shortlisted and in the end after much deliberation ABBY BRADY was chosen as the 2015 winner.
