This week's Roscommon LGFA notes

Roscommon Ladies Gaa latest News

Development Launch:

The Abbey hotel was the place to be last Sunday as our development academies were officially launched in conjunction with our new partners Pieta House and sponsors Roscommon County Council and Supermac’s of Roscommon. Special guests and speakers on the night included all Ireland winner and Sunday game analyst Joe Brolly recent all-Ireland winner,All Star and LGFA players player of the year Noelle Healy of Dublin and representatives Of Pieta House among several others in what amounted to a fantastic night showcasing all that is good in Roscommon ladies football and more importantly setting out a defined structure to grow and develop the ladies game going forward. A full and more detailed report on the evening appears elsewhere in this publication.

Congratulations Kelley:

Roscommon LGFA would like to extend its congratulations to current minor county panellist and Clann na nGael player Kelley Colgan who received her Connacht LGFA young player of the year for 2017 at the recent TG4 All-stars banquet in the City west hotel in Dublin held last weekend.

Kelley was a star for the Roscommon team that reached the U16 A Connacht final this year against Galway and the all-Ireland semi-final against Kildare. Kelley’s displays at midfield and centre forward were exceptional and this award ensures due recognition of her efforts. Kelley who’s a huge fan of mayo’s Cora Staunton, attends our Lady’s Bower convent in Athlone with whom she won a Leinster schools title in 2015. She was also a member of the Roscommon U14 and U16 provincial winning teams of the past few years and she was a leading light on the all-conquering Clann na nGael U14 team that captured All-Ireland national Feile honours in 2015. At Club level Kelley has 13 county medals with Clann na nGael.
