Tipperary Chairman pays tribute to retiring captain Samantha Lambert

Tipperary Ladies Football County Board Chairman Mr. Lar Roche has paid tribute to Samantha Lambert, after the Ardfinnan player announced her retirement from inter-county football.

Speaking at the monthly meeting of Tipperary Ladies Football, Mr. Roche explained that just prior to the meeting he had been contacted by Samantha and she informed him of her decision.

Mr. Roche said that he that while he was shocked, he wanted to thank Samantha for her outstanding commitment to Tipperary Ladies Football.

“Samantha has been a fantastic captain, player and role model for Tipperary and I hope that she won’t go too far away from Tipperary Ladies Football,” Roche said.

“I also would like to acknowledge Samantha’s role in the committee that interviewed the candidates for our newly appointed Senior Manager, Declan Carr. Finally, I would just like to say thank you very, very much for all you have done and given to Tipperary Ladies Football.”

Lambert captained Tipperary to TG4 All-Ireland Intermediate titles in 2017 and 2019.
