All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship Final 2009

All-Ireland Intermediate Club Championship Final 2009

( Michael Forde Leinster PRO)

St. Brigid’s of Dublin travel to Nowlan Park ( Kilkenny) on Sunday next to take on Brian Boru’s of Tipperary to decide who will be crowned TESCO’s All Ireland Intermediate Champions for 2009.
The man in the middle for this encounter will be Gavin Corrigan from County Down, with the action commencing at 2pm.
The last Dublin club to claim the All Ireland Intermediate club title was Naomh Mearnóg / St. Sylvesters back in 2006 when they beat Confey of Kildare in the final.
On Sunday the eight of November last , St. Brigid’s put in a powerful performance against Breaffy of Mayo in their semi final clash, with the Dublin club side notching up six goals and ten points from their in form forward line. St. Brigid’s have a number of experienced players amongst their ranks, including six from the current Dublin County team that were very unlucky not to claim the TG4 All Ireland title this year.
Brian Boru’s had four points to spare (3-12 to 3-8 ) when they played host to St. Paul’s of Antrim in their semi final game, which will stand the Premier county club side in good stead for next Sunday’s game against St. Brigid’s.
Both sets of Mentors will have their respective sides finely tuned for the final, and it is hoped that supporters, from both clubs and Counties will travel in large numbers to Nowlan Park in the Marble City to watch what should be a very exciting All Ireland Intermediate Club Final.
