Job Opportunity: Injury Fund Co-ordinator

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association provides a social outlet and a healthy activity for thousands of people around the world. Starting with club football for primary schools girls, an individual can keep playing Ladies Gaelic for as long as she wants, especially with our Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative for those adults interested in recreational or non-competitive participation.

The Ladies Gaelic Football Association strives to be a modern, innovative and well run organisation that provides a quality service and support system for all members, from an 8 year old girl kicking her first ball in her local club to an elite athlete scoring her first point in Croke Park.

To continue its development as one of the largest, fastest growing, active and dynamic sports in Europe the Association is looking to fill the position of the National Injury Fund Co-ordinator, based in LGFA Head office in Dublin. 

 

Working as part of the LGFA team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for the co-ordination and management of the national injury fund of all eligible members within the Association.  You will be required to:

  • Effectively manage the injury fund ensuring all applications are correctly managed from receipt to closure of the case.
  • Ensure the injury fund operates as effectively and efficient as possible using all available IT systems.
  • Manage a variety of relationships and contacts from liaising with medical professionals, supporting players and county officers, and negotiating and influencing third parties where required.
  • Ensure information is tracked and analysed to assess the performance of the fund and report on same.
  • Design and deliver information workshops relating to the operation of the injury fund to officers across the country

This post is a critical component to the successful operation of the fund.  To be successful it is essential that candidates have:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience, in a service related industry or sports related background dealing with members, volunteers or members of the public where excellent relationship management is the key to success.
  • Competence in the use of information technology, Windows packages including word, access, excel, power point and email
  • Demonstrable experience of motivating and enabling others to deliver
  • Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills

 

Desirable would be

  • Previous experience in the delivery of training and presentations.
  • Accounts management experience
