BORD GÁIS ENERGY LADIES NFL ROUND 3 PREVIEWS

Sunday 22nd February, 2009

Division 1a:

Kerry v Tyrone
Milltown, 1.00pm (D Byrne)

Tyrone top the division with two wins from two while Kerry come into this game on the back of a heavy defeat to Mayo. Tyrone have unearthed some gems and are getting scores from all over the park so the O’Neill County are expected to maintain their 100% record.

Mayo v Donegal
Kiltimagh, 2.00pm (PJ Rabbitte)

Mayo showed their quality in Round 2 with a high scoring display against last year’s beaten finalists Kerry. Donegal are missing key players and with no wins to date they look destined for another tough afternoon against Mayo.

Laois v Armagh
Mountmellick, 2.00pm (J Murray)

Laois lost out to Tyrone last time out but showed a lot of promise in a closely fought contest. Armagh have shown little to suggest they are title contenders apart from a facile victory over struggling Donegal so the O’Moore County should make home advantage count.

Division 1b:

Monaghan v Kildare
Inniskeen, 2.00pm (G Corrigan)

Monaghan bounced back from their opening weekend loss with an impressive win over Clare. Kildare are struggling to maintain their Division 1 status and will be on damage limitation duty against a resurgent Farney side.

Galway v Dublin
Monivea, 2.00pm (M Kenny)

Galway are struggling this season having already lost to Clare and Cork so a third straight loss would put a relegation battle on the cards. Dublin have two wins from two and look likely to maintain their momentum and claim another three points.

Clare v Cork
Cooraclare, 2.00pm (G Guinan)

The Banner Ladies got a rude welcome to Division 1 football from Monaghan last time out and things will not get any easier this weekend as they face a Cork side in devastating form. Cork have scored 43 points in two games so Clare could be in for a torrid time.
