Champions Dublin to meet Kerry and Armagh to take on Galway in TG4 All-Ireland semi-finals

The reigning TG4 All-Ireland senior champions Dublin will meet old rivals Kerry in the semi-finals of this year’s competition, while Armagh will meet Galway in the other last four clash.

Dublin staged a dramatic comeback to score two goals in the dying moments of their quarter-final clash to oust Cork by 3-11 to 2-13.

Orlagh Nolan and Kate Sullivan got the late goals to deny a Cork side who led by 1-7 to 1-6 at the break.

First half goals against the wind from captain Síofra O’Shea and Mary O’Connell, which helped them lead by 2-6 to 0-6 the break, sent Kerry on their way to a 2-14 to 0-8 win over Meath.

Emma Duggan got 0-5 for Meath but Kerry pulled away in the second half to set up their semi-final date with Dublin.

Armagh booked their semi-final place with a hard-earned 3-9 to 1-12 win over Kildare. Two goals from Aimee Mackin helped Armagh lead by 2-5 to 0-6 at the break, but Kildare fought back after Kelly Mallon had got a third goal for the home side.

A goal from Alannah Prizeman got Kildare back in contention but Armagh finished well and held on for victory.

They will now play Galway in the semi-finals after the Tribeswomen defeated neighbours Mayo by 2-20 to 1-6 at Tuam Stadium on Sunday evening.

A goal from Sinéad Cafferky for Mayo saw the sides turn around level at 0-6 to 1-3 at half-time but two goals from Kate Thompson and Kate Slevin sent Galway on their way to an emphatic victory.

Meanwhile, Donegal and Tyrone secured their senior status for 2027. Donegal and Waterford were level at 1-8 apiece at full-time but a Roisin Rodgers goal in extra-time secured a 2-11 to 1-12 win for Donegal.

Tyrone, with Niamh O’Neill shooting 0-6 and Chloe McCaffrey 0-4, saw off Tipperary by 0-16 to 1-9 to ensure their top flight status for 2027.

Munster neighbours Waterford and Tipperary will now meet in the relegation decider with the losers dropping to the intermediate grade for 2027.

Wicklow will drop to the junior grade in 2027 after they were defeated by Laois by 1-15 to 2-9 in the intermediate relegation play-off.
