CORK LADIES FOOTBALL LOOK FOR COACHING TUTORS By Mary White It’s a new year and a new beginning and for Cork Ladies Football. Last year was hugely successful and the game continued to grow rapidly both locally and nationally. With 53 clubs in total and over 8,000 players, underage development has become a big part of Cork Ladies Football. As a result the Association is currently looking for suitable individuals to become Foundation Level Coaching Tutors for the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, with the possibility of progressing to further coaching levels. The role of the tutor will involve delivering the FUNdamentals syllabus to adults, which was specifically designed for coaching ladies football to young female athletes. FUNdamentals is a dynamic introductory course exploring issues such as Player Pathway, planning and implementation of training programmes, practical coaching and good coaching practice. Tutors will be expected to work weekends and travel is involved. A good knowledge and understanding of Ladies Gaelic Football and the principles of coaching is essential, as is access to a car. Completion of the FUNdamentals course will be an advantage. Tutors will be paid per course delivered and all expenses are covered. Full training, which is based in Dublin is provided by the National Coaching and Training Centre and will involve 5 full weekends as well as an in-house Tutor Induction. If interested forward your details, CV and short description of Coaching/Football experience before January 28th to Paula Prunty, Ladies Gaelic Football Association, Level 6 Cusack Stand, Croke Park, Dublin 3 or email paula@ladiesgaelic.ie. Alternatively if you’re interested in having the syllabus thought to members of your football club or school staff, why not contact the Ladies Gaelic Football Association who would be more than delighted to organise a weekend coaching course. As it’s the fastest growing sport in Ireland, those involved with young females, at club or school level should avail of this opportunity. * Trials for the Cork Junior Ladies Football team take place on Sunday January 9th. Clubs and players interested should contact Manager Cathal O’Callaghan on 087-9494136 for more information. Mary White (PRO, Cork Ladies Football Share this Article 0 0
