Cork Ladies Footballers to play TG4 Championship Fixture at Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the first time

THE Munster Ladies Gaelic Football Association is pleased to confirm that Cork will play a Senior TG4 provincial Championship Fixture at Páirc Uí Chaoimh for the very first time on Saturday, June 1.

Ephie Fitzgerald’s Cork are defending TG4 Munster Senior champions, and will battle it with Kerry and Waterford for the 2019 provincial title.

Munster LGFA officials, who have been working closely with Munster GAA, have revealed that Cork and Kerry will play at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on June 1, at 5pm, in Round 3 of the round-robin format.

The game will precede the Munster men’s Senior Football Championship Semi-Final between Cork and Tipperary or Limerick, which will commence at 7pm.

This news follows hot on the heels of confirmation that Cork will play at the Leeside venue for the first time during the 2019 Lidl Ladies National Football League Division 1 campaign.

Cork will meet Tipperary at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday, February 23, before a fixture there with Donegal on Saturday, March 16.

Munster LGFA has also confirmed that the Intermediate Ladies Footballers from Tipperary and Limerick will play as part of a TG4 Championship ‘double-header’ alongside their male counterparts at Semple Stadium, Thurles, on Saturday May 11.

The Ladies Football Round 1 fixture will get underway at 5pm, and will be followed by the Munster men’s Senior Football Championship quarter-final between the two counties at 7pm.

In total, Munster LGFA has pencilled in four ‘double-header’ fixtures in conjunction with Munster GAA – on May 11 and June 1.

In addition to the above mentioned, Kerry will play Waterford on Saturday, May 11, in Round 1 of the TG4 Munster Ladies Senior Football Championship at Cusack Park, Ennis (5pm).

That game will be followed by the meeting of Clare and Waterford in the Munster men’s SFC quarter-final, which will start at 7pm.

Also, on Saturday, June 1, Round 3 of the TG4 Munster Ladies Intermediate Football championship will see Clare and Limerick lock horns at 5pm, at either Cusack Park, Ennis, or Fraher Field, Dungarvan.

At the same confirmed venue, Kerry will play Clare or Waterford in the Munster men’s SFC semi-final.

Munster LGFA would like to thank their Munster GAA counterparts for their assistance in ensuring that each county in the province will be taking part in at least one ‘double-header’ provincial championship fixture this year.
