Cork continue winning run, in Cup. Cork 2-16 Meath 1-6 Cork stormed to their 4th win on the trot, in the Aisling McGing cup, a competition for Counties with a 2nd Senior team. After losing to Clare in the Munster Junior Championship, with the same squad, Cork were determined to get back on the victory trail and they did so with ease. Ane Marie Walsh who starred in the Underdogs series was in sparkling form in the forwards and sent over 6 points. Louise Crowley continues to impress with 4, while the goals came from Amy O’Shea who also added 2 points and Niamh Hickey who added a point, to her major. The defence were never under pressure and keeper Martina O’Brien coped well with her duties and saved a penalty, to boot. The good news is that unbeaten Cork have qualified for the Semi-Finals with over 3 months to spare, but will keep in shape with the remaining games against Galway and Kildare.
