A full attendance is expected. Congratulations to Cliodhna O’Connor, Maria Kavanagh and Sinead Ahearne on being selected for the Bord Gais Division 1 National League Team of 2009. Well deserved. The final breakdown was as follows – Cork, 6, Dublin, 3, Monaghan, 2 and Armagh, Mayo, Galway and Laois one apiece. A first ever u10 Summer Blitz will take place on Saturday 27th June. Development Officer, Stephen Harbron, must be notified in advance of Tuesday’s meeting if clubs wish to participate. Hard luck to the Dublin u14’s who lost out to an outstanding Cork team at Toomevara on Saturday last in the All-Ireland semi-final. Cork led by 4-6 to 0-5 at half time and despite a brave second half fight back Dublin lost out by 4-9 to 1-8. Cork scored 3-2 in the closing seven minutes of the first half making Dublin’s task well nigh impossible in the second. Manager, Paddy Moohan, was full of praise for the girls and said that they gave it their all. Even though he was reluctant to name names he did, when pressed, mention four names. The four who gave outstanding performances were Molly Lambe, Maria McGrath, Muireann Ni Scanaill and Zoe Murphy. Well done girls. Proposals for summer leagues will be put to the Board at Tuesday’s meeting. All trophies from the 2008 victorious teams must be returned at tonight’s meeting.
