Down Ladies Fixtures/Results and Round-up

Down Ladies Fixtures/Results and Round-up

Congratulations to Carryduff who clinched the intermediate league title on Monday evening at Loughinisland. This achievement is made the more impressive by the fact they still have 2 remaining fixtures to play. They have now secured senior football for 2010 and they can look forward to their senior championship semi-final meeting with neighbours Bredagh in August. Well done to all concerned, players and mentors alike.

Round-up:

The fixtures schedule took the backseat on Saturday evening with most games being re-arranged due to the County Men’s All-Ireland qualifier match v London in Pairc Esler. There were two games played in the intermediate league where Kilcoo defeated Burren 4-09 to 4-06 in a highly entertaining game and Bright overcame an under strength Ballymartin outfit to edge out winners on a score-line of 2-08 to 1-06. On Sunday evening Clonduff met Downpatrick and they had little trouble gathering the two points on offer. This was a good result for Clonduff and will help erase memories of their recent championship meeting when the hoops very nearly ended their season.

The season shuts down for the next couple of weeks with August 1st the date scheduled for the restart.
