Dublin Ladies County Board Notes

Dublin Ladies County Board Notes

The Dublin U14 Preliminary Trials have been concluded with over 150 girls assessed over two weekends. Maurice Brew and his management will be in contact to begin the task of shaping his panel of 30. The Leinster campaign starts with a home game to Kildare on March 13th next.

REMINDER: The position of Fixtures Officer has been divided this year. If Clubs need to talk about Referees, Dave McCabe has been elected as Referee's Co-Ordinator and the fixtures and associated matters on our website will be looked after by Ricky O'Sullivan as Fixtures Co-Ordinator [Technical]

Clubs are requested to supply details of their contacts to the County Secretary as soon as possible. A template has already been circulated. Only one Club has returned it!

Affiliations are due tomorrow [Monday] for the U10 panels. One vacancy has arisen for a Sub Committee member to guide this series of mini-games which has attracted 23 Clubs so far with the potential for over 1000 players. Can I have nominees please?

After a scrappy game, Dublin remain unbeaten in the Bord Gais Energy National League taking a point from a draw against Galway in the second round.

REMINDER to Clubs – all new players MUST be REGISTERED immediately. Don't forget to include your Under 10s coming through from nursery and academy panels.

Well done to Ballinteer St John's on opening their All Weather Pitch. A special note of congrats to the U11 girls and Feile Team for their part in the ceremonies

Well done too to St Brigid's on opening their new dressing rooms and hurling wall. We hear that Dublin Camogie took on the Kilkenny Cats to mark the occasion.

Congratulations to Scoil Uí Chonaill on reaching 60. The birthday was celebrated in style in Clontarf Castle with GAA President Christy Cooney in attendance.

Congratulations also to Last Years DUBLIN MINORS who picked up a Gazette Group gong at their annual sports awards night on Friday.

REMINDER the next meeting of the COUNTY BOARD is on Tuesday 23rd next in Parnell Park at 7.30pm. Matters for the AGENDA must be with me by Tuesday. This meeting will address gradings [Teams & Players]

…….and finally

There will be a refresher course for Referees in Parnell Park on April 13th. It is intended to invite all Referees on the existing Panel and also those who have completed the Grab Your Whistle courses over the past two years. Other GAA/Camogie Referees who are interested in officiating at Ladies Games should also contact the Referee Co-ordinator. Please bring this to the attention of the Referees affiliated with your Club.
