Dublin and Meath Confirm Aisling McGing U21 Final teams

Dublin and Meath will contest the Aisling McGing U21 Final at Clane on Sunday at 2pm in a highly anticipated climax to this excellent competition.

Dublin will take the field as the favourites to win after producing a superb display to dethrone the defending champions, Cork, in the semi final at Thurles last weekend. Manager, Gregory McGonigle, has named the same 15 to start against the Royals with much attention bound to be focused on their senior contingent including Sarah McCaffrey, Siobhan Woods and Carla Rowe. Nicole Owens was the scorer in chief in the semi final as she scored a hattrick of goals herself with Niamh Rickard producing a superb show also from wing forward.

Meath have produced great form on their path to the final as they negotiated a very difficult group without losing any match. Emma Troy has been selected to start having recently been named on the TESCO Homegrown Team of the League.  Máire O’Shaughnessy will captain the team from midfield as part of a formidable looking pairing with Kate Byrne. Much of the scoring burden will rest on the shoulders of Shauna Ennis, Bridgetta Lynch and Laura Dempsey.

A close match is expected between these two teams as there was very little to separate the two counties when they met at underage level.
