This will be an epic battle between two evenly matched teams. Dublin broke their Leinster duck and reclaimed the provincial title in style while Tyrone bounced back impressively from their Ulster final heartbreak.

 

Dublin trio Hyland, Aherne and Davey will cause problems for the Tyrone defence whereas at the other end of the park Tyrone’s Gemma Begley is one of the most devastating finishers in the ladies game. Dublin have not played a Championship game in five weeks whereas Tyrone are battled hardened having beaten Armagh in the qualifiers. Tyrone are well placed to emulate their male counterparts and dump the Leinster champions out of the Championship.

Cork v Galway

Cork have an abundance of talent and have been training away in isolation awaiting their next Championship outing. Expect a slow start from the Leesiders but their quality should ensure their advancement.

 

Galway need to fire out of the blocks and maintain that effort if they are to catch the reigning champions cold. Lorna Joyce will bring experience to the forward line while the battle between Galway’s Annette Clark and triple All Ireland winner Juliet Murphy in the midfield is key to Galway’s chances.
