FOXROCK-Cabinteely stars Niamh Collins and Tarah O’Sullivan are key players on the UCD team aiming for Gourmet Food Parlour HEC Division 1 League glory on Wednesday evening. UCD and University of Limerick will battle it out for the title in Stradbally, in a game that has a 7.45pm throw-in. Collins and O’Sullivan were TG4 All-Ireland Senior medallists with Dublin in September, and they’re aiming to add the All-Ireland senior club title to their collection when Fox-Cab tackle Mourneabbey in the December 8 decider. Martha Byrne and Molly Lamb are other Dublin stars on the UCD team managed by Conor Barry, while DJ Collins-managed UL can also call upon a host of well-known inter-county players. Clare’s Laurie Ryan will fill the full-back slot while Mayo’s Fiona McHale is listed at midfield. Cork ace Eimear Scally will captain the team from right corner forward. The Division 2 Final between University of Ulster, Jordanstown, and Mary Immaculate College gets an exciting week underway at Broombridge, DIT, this evening (Monday, 7pm).
