Galway host Hugely Successful Development Academies

Galway Ladies Development – A successful end to our U13 and U15 Academies 2014

Galway Ladies Development engaged in an eight week Academy programme where 220 girls from our clubs attended the sessions which were delivered by club coaches throughout our county.  During the programme we received consistent support from all involved which makes it all worthwhile and so much easier. A special word of thanks to our three co-ordinators who organised the session plans, kept attendance records and answered all of the many questions!  We had up to 45 coaches involved in the Academy.  To commence the programme our coaches attended a Key2coaching programme organised and delivered by Noelle Gormley, Connacht Ladies Development Officer which was invaluable in the correct delivery of the Academy.  To finish our Academy, on Saturday last 180 girls from 24 Galway clubs travelled to the Connacht Centre of Excellence, Ballyhaunis to take part in the Connacht Under 13 and Under 15 Development Blitz.  The girls enjoyed a fabulous day of football wearing their County jerseys, playing teams from Mayo, Sligo, Roscommon and Leitrim while meeting new friends.  We were all very proud of them on the day. We would like to thank our players, coaches, helpers, parents, clubs and co-ordinators for their commitment to the Academy and we look forward to 2015! All players who attended on Saturday will receive a team photograph and a certificate of attendance which will be issued through their club in the next couple of weeks. Galway Abú
