The game was played in good spirit and both teams had chances to win the match throughout as the lead swapped over a couple of times during the hour. Karen Cummins opened the scoring for the home side but points from Caroline Hill and Leanne O’Rourke had Naas in front after ten minutes. Catherine O’Malley, Karen Cummins and Shauna O’Brien points put Carbury two in front. Naas struck back with points four of their own points from Naomi Curtis, Leanne O’Rourke, Shannon Doheny and Mary Ambrose. Karen Cummins and Mary Ambrose shared points before Shauna O’Brien and Caroline Hill did so too which left the score at halftime Carbury 0-6 Naas 0-8. Carbury were now playing with the aid of the breeze and a high ball in around the square caused confusion in the Naas defence and Catherine O’Malley was left with a simple tap in for the opening goal. Carbury began to press their advantage and a further brace of points from Karen Cummins seen them lead by three. Mary Ambrose and Catherine O’Malley shared points again and when Amanda Reilly put Carbury 4 points up it looked all over for Naas. However this young team never gave up and were rewarded with points from Chelsea Crowe and Caroline Hill as the game entered the last five minutes. Caroline Hill cut the deficit to one point after good work by Shannon Doheny and Mary Ambrose. However the reliable Karen Cummins doubled the lead again and with time almost up Naas went back up field where Naomi Curtis passed to Caroline Hill to goal and get the lead back for Naas on the stoke of time. However there was time for another attack this time for Carbury and after a couple of frees out the field it was left to Karen Cummins to add her fourth from the final free of the night to draw the game. Division 4 Rheban 3.12 Celbridge 9.08 Celbridge overcame a very tough Rheban side on a scoreline 9-8 to 3-12 in Round 4 of the Senior League. In a game of two halves Celbridge lead 6-5 to 2-1 at half time and Rheban came back very strongly in the second half aided by the strong wind. Scorers for Celbridge were Sarah McNiffe (4.02), Orlagh Gowran (3.02), Sailog O’Keeffe (1.00), Sinead Halstead (1.01), Niamh Plunkett (0.02), Gillian Brooks (0.01). Division 4 Ballymore 2.10 Balyna 1.02 Balyna started quickly with a goal in the first 5minutes. Ballymore replied by putting pressure on the Balyna backs resulting in a well taken goal by Aisling Hubbard. The first half was played at a very fast pace and the teams were evenly matched with most of the scores being converted in the first 5 minutes and final 5 minutes of the half. Half time score Ballymore 1.03 Balyna 1.01. Both teams started well in the second half. Ballymores second goal of the game was put confidently in to the back of the net by Dawn Murray and was the beginning of a run of scores for Ballymore putting them firmly in the lead. Ballymore made some fine accurate passes and converted their scoring chances putting 1.07 on the score board in the second half. Balyna put in a good performance but Ballymores experience showed resulting in a good win for Ballymore. This was another great team performance from Ballymore with great performances coming from Lesley Tutty, Marilena Norton, Sharon O Donoghue, Cleo Hubbard and Dawn Murray. Scores for Ballymore came from Aisling Hubbard, Stephanie Harney and Dawn Murray. Division 4 Robert Emmets 1.21 Castledermot 3.03 Robert Emmetts ladies recorded their third win in a row in Sallins against Castledermot. On what was a perfect evening for football, Emmets got off to a flying start scoring a point afew seconds after throw in. Emmets tagged on a few more points but Castledermot began to settle midways through the second half and played some great football. Their efforts were rewarded with 2 quick goals to put them ahead. With just minutes to go to half time Emmets converted a free through Mary Hulgraine to give her team the narrowest of margins. Half time score Robert Emmets 0.08 Castledermot 2.01. Emmets tagged on a few early points in the second half and began to put a gap between the sides. Robert Emmets ability to take their scores saw them score 1.13 to Castledermot 1.02 in the second half. Best for Emmets were Amy Gallagher, Rebecca McCormack, Roisin Power and Ciara Lawlor. Best for Castledermot were Debbie Greene, Sarah Harmon and Aoife Whelan. Emmets scorers were Ciara Lawlor 1.05, Mary Hulgraine 0.07, Shelly Campbell 0.03, Tara O Neill 0.01, Sandra Delemare 0.01 and Laura Donnelly 0.01.
