Lead changes hands in race for 2026 ZuCar Golden Boot award!

THERE’S a new leader in the race for the 2026 ZuCar Golden Boot award.

Antrim’s Maria O’Neill now leads the way, two points clear of previous pace-setter Annie Ní Lochlainn from Derry.

Down’s Eimear Fitzpatrick, former winner Eimear Smyth from Fermanagh and Leitrim’s Muireann Devaney make up the remainder of the top 5.

In Antrim’s big win against Kilkenny last weekend, St Ergnats Moneyglass star Maria bagged 3-2.

That was Maria’s second hat-trick of goals in the 2026 TG4 All-Ireland senior championship, as she also registered a treble against Longford, and good enough to lift her to the summit in the race for the individual sharpshooting accolade.

The leaders are listed on the graphic below and the overall winner of the ZuCar Golden boot award will be the player who registers the highest individual tally across the TG4 All-Ireland Championships – and covering the Junior, Intermediate and Senior grades.
