The Ladies Gaelic Football Association have launched a new regional series of Grab Your Whistle Adult and Youth courses to assist counties to increase the capacity of referees officiating games within their counties. Counties have struggled to have enough referees to meet demand and these courses offer the opportunity for referees to take the next step on their officiating pathway. Adult Course The course is designed to recruit and train referees aged 18+ progressing from the youth course or with GAA experience. On completion of the course the referee will be qualified to referee competitive club football at adult and juvenile level. Participants must have completed the Grab Your Whistle Youth course or have a minimum of two years experience officiating in Gaelic Games. Participants must complete the full course to qualify: • One full day course at any of the venues listed, 10am – 5pm • Short online rules assessment Youth Course The course is designed to recruit and train referees aged 17+ to officiate at competitive youth games, Under 12 to Under 16. Referees may have completed the Go Games course prior but this is not mandatory. On completion of the course the referee will be qualified to referee competitive club football at juvenile level (Under 12- Under 16).
