Senior Final: Throw in 3.15pm

Dublin v Kildare

All roads lead to Dr. Cullen Park on Sunday next (19th July) as Dublin and Kildare go head to head in the TG4 Leinster senior Final, while the ‘Mary Ramsbottom’ cup is presently residing in the capital, the Lillie whites, led by their captain Aisling Holten will be hoping to parade the trophy around the plains of Kildare on Sunday evening next.
Kildare go in to this game as underdogs, in their most recent game against Dublin in the Bord Gais Energy NFL, they suffered a heavy defeat ( 4-11 to 0-10) to the Dublin ladies, but on positive note they also went in to their TG4 Leinster championship semi final game against Laois as underdogs, and after pushing the O’Moore ladies all the way, including extra time, the Lillie whites came away from O’Moore Park with their well earned admission tickets in to Dr. Cullen Park to contest the TG4 Leinster Senior Championship final. But it’s not as spectators that they will travel to Dr. Cullen Park,. Kildare had a total of eight players on target against Laois, Noelle Earley, Aishling Jennings, Gillian Behan, Deirdre Gately, Caroline Hill, Aisling Holton, Tracy Noone and Maria Moolick, and the Kildare management team will hoping that all their big guns will be just as lethal on Sunday next.
Dublin, have been crowned Leinster senior champions on four occasions, and I’m sure that Dublin captain Denise Masterson will want to make it number five on Sunday next and doubling up on Leinster trophies in the Dubs trophy room.
Dublin had a convincing win over Meath in their semi-final game (5-6 to1-8) in Páirc Tailteann on Saturday July 4th, with, Sinead Aherne , Lynsey Peat , Mary Nevin , Niamh Hurley , Lynsey Davey , Natalia Hyland and Elaine Kelly all registering scores. The Dublin side were the stronger team on the day, and rose well to the challenge of losing key player Lyndsey Davey to injury, Dublin hope to have Davey back in time for this weekends final.
