The LGFA, in conjunction with DCU, have created an Injury Prevention Programme targeted for Match Officials. This injury prevention programme is targeted at injuries that a Match Official within the LGFA most commonly endures. This injury prevention programme is complete with a pre-match warm up that should replace any pre-match warm up a match official currently completes. The aim of this programme is to reduce the risk of injury suffered in match officials within the LGFA. There are two elements to this: Injury Prevention Programme Complete 7-9 minutes (2-3 times per week) when training, after matches, or at home. Focuses: strength, balance & injury prevention. Perform each exercise once, rest for 15 seconds between each exercise. LGFA Match Official Pre-Match Warm up The LGFA Match Official Pre-Match Warm up should be completed before every game and can be utilised as part of a referee training session for on-field sessions. The warmup takes under 10 minutes to complete. Focuses: Running, Sprinting and Change of Direction. Perform each exercise twice.
