Meath Set for Minor & U16 Double Header v Wexford

Minor Semi Final v Wexford

Meath will be hoping to do the double this weekend as they welcome the county from the sunny south east, Wexford, to the Royal County on both Saturday and Sunday as our Minors and u16s take to the field.

On Saturday, the Minors will take on Wexford in Kilbride GAA at 2pm to battle it out for a place in the Leinster Championship C Final. Meath have enjoyed comprehensive victories over Wicklow, Louth and Longford while receiving a walkover from Carlow to top Division Two and set up a favourable semi-final with Wexford who finished bottom of the table in Division One, their only victory in the Leinster Championship coming from a win over Offaly on March 28th. Eamon Murray’s charges will be hoping to take full advantage of being at home and not underestimate the threat Wexford will pose.

On Sunday, the u16s will hope to continue their good run in the Leinster Championship when they take to the field against Wexford on Sunday in Kilbride GAA at the slightly later time of 4pm. Phil Fay’s charges have been unstoppable since defeat to Dublin in the opening round of the championship, recording victories over Westmeath, Kildare and Offaly. Wexford were highly competitive against Dublin the last day out so the Meath team will have to be at their very best next Sunday.

A special word of thanks to Kilbride GAA who have offered to host both games for Meath Ladies this weekend.
