O’Shea nominated for All Star Geraldine O’Shea is Kerry’s only nomination for this year’s Ladies football Allstars that will be announced at a Gala banquet at the CityWest in Dublin on November 17th. The Annascaul native who already has five such awards to her name is Kerry’s longest serving Intercounty footballer in either the mens or ladies codes and is a link back to Kerry’s last winning Ladies All Ireland side in 1993. Previous Kerry all stars winners Sarah O Connor (holding football) Kacey O’driscoll (middle of picture) and Geraldine O shea extreme right who bids for her 6th all star award on November 17th in the Citywest Hotel in Dublin. The ace attacker on the Kerry Senior team hit 2-29 (0-13 frees) in 7 league appearances as Kerry fell short at the semi-final stage. Kerry’s leading scorer contributed 1-18 (0-8 frees) in 5 championship appearances as the Kingdom tamely bowed out at the round robin qualifier stages as they failed to reach the quarter finals of the TG4 All Ireland series. Eight other players are nominated in the full forward line with O’Se facing strong opposition from Cork’s All Ireland winning pair Valerie Mulcahy and Deirdre O’Reilly while Tyrone’s Gemma Begley is another player fancied to make the starting All Stars 15.
