O'Shea nominated for All Star

O’Shea nominated for All Star

Geraldine O’Shea is Kerry’s only nomination for
this year’s Ladies football Allstars that will be announced at a
Gala banquet at the CityWest in Dublin on November 17th. The Annascaul
native who already has five such awards to her name is Kerry’s longest
serving Intercounty footballer in either the mens or ladies codes
and is a link back to Kerry’s last winning Ladies All Ireland side
in 1993.

Previous Kerry all stars
winners Sarah O Connor (holding football) Kacey O’driscoll
(middle of picture) and Geraldine O shea extreme right who
bids for her 6th all star award on November 17th in the
Citywest Hotel in Dublin.

The ace attacker on the Kerry Senior team hit 2-29 (0-13 frees)
in 7 league appearances as Kerry fell short at the semi-final stage.
Kerry’s leading scorer contributed 1-18 (0-8 frees) in 5 championship
appearances as the Kingdom tamely bowed out at the round robin qualifier
stages as they failed to reach the quarter finals of the TG4 All
Ireland series. Eight other players are nominated in the full forward
line with O’Se facing strong opposition from Cork’s All Ireland
winning pair Valerie Mulcahy and Deirdre O’Reilly while Tyrone’s
Gemma Begley is another player fancied to make the starting All
Stars 15.

Full forward Line all stars nominations: Valerie Mulcahy and Deirdre
O’Reilly (Cork), Gemma Begley and Cathy Donnelly (Tyrone), Michelle
Hearn and Caroline Murphy (Wexford), Sinead Aherne (Dublin), Ann
Marie Cox (Leitrim) and Geraldine O’Shea (Kerry).
