Sligo slip against Kerry

In what can only be described as a training session for Kerry, as they ran out winners on a score line of 7-27 to Sligo’s 1-04.

Kerry opened the scoring in the 1st minute with a point from Clare O Sullivan and Barbara Brown contributed 1-02 in the next 6 min and with scores from Naomi Ni She (1 point), Claire O Sullivan’s 2nd point, Megan Buckley a point and Nicole O Connor with a goal and a point.
Kerry lead at the end of the 1st quarter on a score of 2-07 to 0-00.

We introduced Amy Fitzgerald for Naomi Ni She in the 12th minute and she scored in the 14th minute with a point. That point was a Fitzgerald trade mark that she has picked up from her uncle Maurice.
Maria Quirke pointed in the 20th min and Sligo registered the first of their 2 scores in this half in the 24th minute.
With a score from Kerry in every remaining minute of this half from the boots of Nicole O Connor of Ballyduff (1-01) Claire O Sullivan (Kenmare) 3 points and a point each from Sinead Guiney and Megan O Connell, it gave Kerry a half time lead of 3-14 to 0-02.

Kerry made a 2nd change during the half time break and introduced Aine Daly for Claire O Sullivan and Daly switched with Michelle O Connor our goal keeper who went to the centre forward and contributed 4 points on the day from that position.
Eilish Lynch took her goal and a point in all of 3 minutes, further points from Michelle O Connor with 4 points and Amy Fitzgerald with a goal and a point, Megan Buckley, Sinead Guiney, Megan O Connell and Nicole O Connor gave Kerry a lead at the end of the 3rd qtr Kerry 5-22 to 2 points.

Leanne Mangan was introduced for Megan O Connell who had just contributed with a another goal and this game was over as a contest.
Sligo who were beaten in every inch of this field did not lie down, they scored a goal and 2 points in 5 minutes.
But Kerry came back and scored 1-05 with Maria Quirke 1-02 and a point each from Amy Fitzgerald and Michelle O Connor.
we ran out on a scorel ine of Kerry 6-27 to Sligo 1-04.
Kerry may not have learned a good deal from this facile victory today, but Denis Healy now knows that he has 11 players that can take their scores and it will stand to them next Saturday when we face Cork in the All Ireland Semi Final.
A venue and time will be confirmed within the next 2 days.
